A sectional cannot be posted, which settles where its market is
Washington sits directly beside St. George, and for furniture that adjacency is the whole story. A buyer in Coral Canyon and a buyer in Bloomington are in the same market because a truck can reach both in the same morning. A buyer in another state is not in the market at all, whatever a listing site suggests, because nobody drives eight hours for a dining table.
This is not a sentiment about shopping locally. It is arithmetic. With a population of roughly 32,348 as of 2024, Washington on its own is a modest pool of buyers; combined with St. George and the towns along the corridor, it is a real one. That combined pool is the actual audience for your furniture, and it is reachable by exactly one method — putting the piece somewhere those people can come and sit on it.
Which is what a consignment floor is for, and the rest of this page is about who runs ours and how the collection works from your side of the valley.

The same family that moves furniture here for a living
This is the Ruuth family’s business, and the moving company came first. Just-In Time Moving has been moving Southern Utah households since 2012. Consignment grew directly out of that work, for a reason anyone who has done a lot of moves will recognise: on a large proportion of jobs there is furniture nobody wants to take to the new house, nobody wants to throw away, and nobody has a practical way to sell.
So the stock is genuinely local. Pieces come out of houses in Coral Canyon, Sienna Hills, Washington Fields and Green Springs, and they generally go into houses within a few miles. Nothing arrives from a liquidation lot or a wholesale pallet. When a floor is stocked that way it ends up looking like the neighbourhoods around it rather than like a catalogue, which is exactly what a buyer furnishing a house here wants to see.
Washington’s housing history makes it a strong supply side. These are largely newer neighbourhoods filled by people who moved in from elsewhere, often from bigger houses in other states. The furniture that came with them is frequently good and frequently wrong for the room it landed in. That is close to the ideal consignment piece: sound, well made, and simply in the wrong place.
The lifting is not your problem. Pickup and delivery are arranged through Just-In Time Moving for an additional charge. Those are crews who have carried furniture out of houses in these subdivisions before — they know which staircases turn awkwardly and which front doors will not take a sofa without the feet coming off. That is a small thing until the day it is not.
And the honest boundary: we consign, we do not buy outright, and we will tell you at intake if we think a piece is wrong for this market rather than letting it sit on a floor for ninety days.

Industries around Washington
Washington runs on retail, construction, healthcare and logistics, and all four shape what a local consignment floor sees.
Construction is the engine. Sustained building across Coral Canyon, Sienna Hills and Washington Fields keeps households moving between homes inside the same few square miles — and a short move is exactly the circumstance in which consignment makes sense, because the seller is still nearby when the piece sells.
Retail and logistics provide a workforce that tends to move within the area rather than away from it. That produces repeat business in both directions: the same household that consigned a dining set two years ago is often back buying a desk.
Healthcare brings people in from outside on fixed start dates, needing a house furnished before work begins. They are the buyers, and their deadline is why having the piece physically nearby matters more than having it listed widely.
On the family history: Just-In Time Moving has operated in Southern Utah since 2012, and the consignment business is the same people. That is the only reason it is worth stating.
On inventory: the floor changes weekly. We do not publish stock lists we cannot keep current or describe pieces we do not have.
On outcomes: no promise that a piece sells, and no estimate of what it fetches before we have seen it.
