Best Furniture Consignment in Hurricane
What to establish before your furniture leaves Hurricane, including the question about collection that people forget to ask.
Serving St. George, UT · 50/50 split · 90-day standard term
Distance changes which consignment questions matter
Hurricane has a population of around 22,771 as of 2024 and sits a genuine drive from the main St. George retail corridor. That distance does not change the economics of consignment much, but it changes the order in which the questions matter.
For a seller in Sky Mountain, Dixie Springs or Coral Ridge, the split and the term are still the two commercial terms that decide whether consigning is worth doing. But sitting above both is a practical one that a seller inside St. George never has to think about: how does the piece actually get there, who moves it, and what does that cost? A generous split on a sofa you cannot transport is not a generous split.
So this page runs the standard checklist, and then deals properly with the collection question rather than leaving it implied.

The checklist, with the Hurricane question answered first
Collection, since it is the one that decides the rest. Pickup and delivery are available through Just-In Time Moving for an additional charge. That is a separate service with its own cost, and we would rather state it plainly than let “free pickup” do work it cannot honestly do. Ask any store the same question and insist on the same clarity: is collection included, charged, or simply not offered outside the city?
The split. Ours is 50/50 on approved items — half the sale to you, half to us — and it does not shift during the term. Ask for a single number. Tiers and conditions are not automatically unfair, but you should see the schedule before agreeing rather than after.
The term. Ninety days is our standard consignment period. For a seller at a distance this deserves more thought than usual, because retrieving an unsold piece from another town is a second logistical exercise. Ask what happens at the end of the term before you commit to the start of it.
Pricing and markdowns. Who sets the price, and who may change it without asking you? Markdowns run per the terms of the signed agreement. Read that document; it governs, not any summary on a website.
Whether they buy or only consign. We consign only. We do not buy furniture outright. For someone in Hurricane clearing a house on a deadline that distinction matters — consignment pays out when a piece sells, which may be weeks away, and no reputable store can promise a date.
And the honest limit. Not every piece justifies the trip. A sound but ordinary item may be worth more to you sold locally or given to someone who needs it than consigned thirty minutes away. We will say so at intake if that is our reading, because a piece that sits on a floor for ninety days and comes home again has cost us both.

Where the furniture comes from in Hurricane
Hurricane’s economy runs on tourism, construction, agriculture and retail, a mix that produces a distinctive flow of furniture.
Tourism is the significant one. Proximity to Zion and to the reservoir supports a substantial short-term rental stock, and rental properties are refurnished on a cycle. Operators replacing a room of furniture at once generate exactly the kind of consistent, lightly-worn, matching pieces that move well on a consignment floor.
Construction keeps households moving through Sky Mountain, Dixie Springs and Coral Ridge, and each move sheds furniture that no longer fits.
Agriculture anchors families who have been here for generations, in older properties. When those houses are cleared it is usually an estate or a downsizing situation, and the furniture is often genuinely good and genuinely old — the sort of piece that needs a real assessment rather than a quick guess.
Retail is limited locally, which is precisely why a Hurricane household with furniture to sell is looking down the valley in the first place.
On value: we will not estimate what a piece fetches before seeing it, and we will not promise it sells at all.
On collection: pickup is a charged service through Just-In Time Moving. We have not described it as free anywhere, because it is not.
On being “the best”: not claimed. The checklist above is the standard; we have answered every item on it.
